Can I just say I am so fucking proud of Disney for their recent inclusion of same-sex couples into their programming
All these religious people say it’s okay to discriminate on sexuality? Fine, I’m opening a restaurant that only hires LGBT+ people. The waiters will all be trans*, the chefs will all be gay/lesbian, the hosts and hostesses will be bi or pansexual, the managers will all be asexual, and we’ll try to hire a few intersex people, too. But no straight cis people allowed to work there, though we’ll happily take their money as they buy our products.
I’m sure you’ve all seen this picture.
That’s the Equality house across from the Westboro Baptist Church and their matching car, right?
That’s the Fagbug. It’s owned by Erin Davies of New York. A few years ago, her bug was trashed. Vandalized. Someone saw a rainbow sticker on her window and spray painted words like “FAG” and “U R GAY” all over it. Instead of washing it off, she drove around like that. She went on a tour to spread awareness for the LGBTQA+ community and eventually raised enough money to get it decorated like this.
Erin goes around the country (and Canada) to spread awareness of what homophobia and slurs can do to people as individuals and as a whole. She goes to pride rallies, assemblies, and as you can see here, she made a visit to the Equality house. She even made a documentary, and you can find it on Netflix. I met her and her amazing Fagbug and she’s really great. Go watch it on Netflix, seriously. She’s even now making a sequel to her documentary.
What does this have to do with me, you ask?
Well this morning, I got an email from her. It said:
“I’ve launched an Indiegogo Fundraising Campaign with a goal of raising $50,000 to qualify the long awaited sequel, “Fagbug Nation” for the Oscars. This includes a 1-week theatrical release of the film in LA and NYC. Through the Indiegogo Campaign, the DVD is now available for pre-sale for the first time. Please take a look and share the campaign with your family, friends, and social media outlets to help make this possible.”

If this is released in the theaters, people around the world will be able to see how millions of people are fed up of the hate. The terrible words said against LGBTQA+ and people alike. This is so important, and if you can’t donate, please at least just SIGNAL BOOST!
